"The culture of small schools typically revolves around hard work, high aspirations, respect for others, and the expectation that all students will succeed." Wasley, P and Lear, R “Small Schools, Real Gains” Educational Leadership March 2001, Vol 58(6)
At St Anthony's we pride ourselves on the engaging and varied curriculum that we offer our students. For the first time this year, we have been able to offer a Music specialist to teach Year 1-8 each week. This term our students have engaged in football sessions with a professional coach as well as Kapa Haka with a specialist teacher.
We are also very pleased to announce that we have secured a Mandarin Languages Assistant to teach Chinese and the Chinese culture to our Year 5-8 students starting next term until the end of the year. This programme is in partnership with The Confucius Institute at Victoria University and Scots College. We are delighted to be able to offer this wonderful learning opportunity to our students.
We definitely punch above our weight in terms of the curriculum breadth that we cover!
